About Us

Church, Inc. (OAKMC) opened its doors for worship January 26, 2014. Worship service was held at the shared worship site, “Dream House”, 127 Harpersville Road Newport News, VA 23601 at 1:00 p.m.

Under the founding leadership of Pastor Dennis D. Ruffin and Co-Pastor Debra M. Ruffin, 90 plus members, friends and Kingdom family worshippers were welcomed.

The church’s humble beginnings inspired and established by Jesus Christ, grew from a Pastoral vision of God’s love for His people. Through Christ’s open arms the ministry exists to extend the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of a servant’s heart. As servant leaders we follow the teachings of God’s Word as we seek to impact our families and communities, our workplace and our world by the power and glory of God. The doors welcome all desiring to grow spiritually, serve with excellence and establish a loving/living relationship with Jesus Christ. Through His open arms and life transforming truths, we reach out to teach and encourage.

Thus, offering; A place to belong, A place to believe and A place to become.

God has blessed this ministry to enjoy fellowship with sister churches in the Richmond, Newport News, Hampton, and Norfolk locales, connecting with Kingdom family beyond the walls.

OAKMC has supported the surrounding community through outreach and financial donations, including area Public Schools, The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and The Peninsula Food Bank, Dream House, The Northampton Community Nursing/Rehabilitation Center and area families in need.

In addition to anointed, spirit filled worship services, interactive Bible Study/Sunday School teaching sessions and a host of Holy observances, OAKMC began hosting Christian Education Fellowships. Area clergy taught on focused biblical truths with today’s implications and applications. Attendants received sound biblical teaching, fun fellowship, and themed refreshments.

Family fellowships gave members opportunities to have movie time, break bread at a local restaurant, and after service food sales, Watch Night Services, a Sunday Sunrise Service in the Park and supported several guest church worship services with our sister churches.

As servants of our Heavenly Father, we seek to follow the precepts and examples of His Son, Jesus Christ. We teach and encourage believers, by the aide of the Holy Spirit to grow spiritually, serve with excellence, evangelize the lost, and live in the authority Christ has given us.

We are excited about God's plan to build His church both spiritually and physically and look forward to growing together in the knowledge of Him, His Love, His Grace and His Mercy.
